Classified School Employee Teacher Credential Grant Program
Annual Scholarships to Support Your Pathway from School Employee to
CREDENTIALED TEACHER
The program provides financial assistance to
current and former classified school employees completing Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees and/or teacher credential programs.
Candidates must attend one of our partner institutions of higher education:
Educator Preparation Programs (SCCOE), National University, Teachers College of San Joaquin, San Jose State University, or Santa Clara University.
Scholarship

$4000
per year through 2026 or until funds run out or candidate obtains a preliminary Teaching Credential
- Candidates may apply annually for the scholarships through 2026
- May be used on tuition, fees, books, and living expenses
Eligibility Requirements
- Verification of employment as classified school employee of a school district in Santa Clara County or Alameda County
- Proof of passing criminal background check
- Have completed at least 48 college level units or AA degree at program entry
- Verification of enrollment in Teacher Preparatory Program or BA Degree Program and intention to pursue credential
Your Commitment
- Obtain BA Degree (if applicable)
- Obtain multiple subject, single subject math or science, or special education credential
- Complete 1 school year of classroom instruction for each year of financial assistance received
