Early Education Teacher Pathways supports a career escalator for people interested in working with young children (preschool to grade 3).
We offer free advising sessions and
career coaching. We will also
match you to a college
program and scholarships that will help pay for your tuition, books, and living expenses while completing your higher education.
We are accepting applications for the following two programs. You may qualify for
more than one scholarship.
This program is for you if you are already enrolled in a
BA in Child Development (CD) or
Early Childhood Education (ECE) and want to obtain a California Teaching Credential.
Scholarship
-
$4800 scholarship per year through 2026 or until funds run out or candidate achieves a Preliminary Teaching Credential.
- Candidates may apply annually for the scholarships through 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be a member of the Santa Clara County or North San Benito County community.
- Provide verification of enrollment in a BA program, multiple subject + 24 ECE units, PK-3, or Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teacher credential program.
Commitment
- Obtain PK-3, Multiple Subject + 24 ECE units, or ECSE teaching credential.
- Complete 1 school year of classroom instruction at the PK-3 level for each year of financial assistance received.
This program is for you if you want to
teach in preschool or transitional kindergarten.
Scholarship

$1200 scholarship per year through 2026 or until funds run out.

- Community Members
- CTE High School Students
- Child Care Workers
- Early Childhood Educators and California State Preschool Program Teachers
- Multiple Subject Teachers who want to add PK-3 authorization
Eligibility Requirements
- Santa Clara County or North San Benito County residents.
- Verified enrollment in ECE/CD coursework at a Santa Clara County community college or university.
Commitment
- Obtain a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Permit.
Application Process
- Candidate submits application.

Coordinator reviews application.

Program Coordinator contacts applicant via email to notify them of their application status and next steps.

- Is there a cost associated with the application?
- There is no cost associated with the application.
- Do I need to submit any documents with the application?
- No documents are required to be submitted with the application. You will be asked to upload the documents listed above after getting approved for a scholarship.
- How will I know if my application is approved?
- You will receive email from the program.
- When will I get the scholarship?
- It can take 10-12 weeks to receive scholarships after you have been approved.
