What is the ArtsEdConnect grant?
The ArtsEdConnect program provides grants to teachers for arts education projects who teach in Santa Clara County public schools or charter schools. It supports activities like performances, exhibits, field trips, artist visits, and classroom materials.

Who is eligible to apply?
Any public-school teacher in Santa Clara County who has approval from their principal and district can apply. This includes charter schools and public schools.

Can a group of teachers with their own classrooms in school organize an art project together?
To save effort, teachers can apply together and indicate such plans within the grant application. In this case, one teacher will serve as the lead teacher in the application.

Can awarded grant funds be used to buy computer hardware, software or licenses?
No, the grant is primarily for art supplies, musical instruments or other supplies related to any visual and performing arts activities as outlined in the California Arts Standards. Any materials or supplies purchased with grant funds need to be related to the grant arts activity.

Can awarded grant funds be used for bus transportation for a planned field trip?
Yes.

Can daycare providers apply for a grant?
No, Public and private daycare are not eligible for this grant.

What is the start date of the grant and when would the project need to begin to be eligible for funding?
The grant's start date begins after the grant award notifications are received by each teacher grantee. A teacher has up to five (5) days to accept the award. An eligible project begins with:
- ArtsEdConnect Grant Committee approval
- Executed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by the grantee’s district
- Teacher acceptance
- Committee’s email acknowledgment of the teacher’s acceptance
During the Grant Period

Conditions have changed since I was awarded the grant. Can I make changes to the grant proposal?Yes, under certain conditions. Grant proposals, once approved, cannot be changed or revised in any way without the express written approval of the revision or change by the ArtsEdConnect Grant Committee. The deadline to make any changes to a grant project is
March 1. Please email artsedconnectgrant@sccoe.org as soon as possible to get the necessary
prior approval.
Be sure to include the grant ID number, Art-xx-xx-xxxx, on all correspondences.

An issue has arisen during the project. Is there a person with whom I can speak at SCCOE?

Final Report

What do you do with the pictures or other media we submit for the report?
Pictures and media may be used in marketing materials and shared with grant funders. Pictures with identifiable information will be removed from our repository. Moving forward, only images without personally identifiable information (PII), e.g., student faces, names, and other identifying features, will be collected and stored in our repository. -
What if all or part of the funds are unused?
While we enthusiastically encourage grantees to fully expend their grant funds, any unused funds must be returned to SCCOE as a check, following the
Unspent Funds procedure. -
Can I get an extension if I have not spent all my funds or if I could not execute the project as outlined?
All grant funds must either be completely spent by the April 30 deadline. Unused funds must be returned along with a completion of the final report by the May deadline.
New:
Please upload a digital copy of the Unspent Funds Form with the Final Report. All funded projects, regardless of level of completion (completed or incompleted), require the completion of the final report by the May deadline. -
I did not complete the project and need to return the funds. Do I need to complete the
Final Report?
Yes, once funds have been disbursed, a final report indicating the details of any difficulties and an expense report with the indicated unspent funds must be done to complete the grant process.

My district accounting department is filling out the
expense report. Do I need to turn in a final report?
Yes, a final report from the teacher grantee must still be completed to complete the grant process.
