Office 365 Migration Checklist
Before Migration
- Calendar Permissions. Document your calendar permissions noting any calendars that you have shared along with any delegated access. You may have to share your calendar and delegate access again after your mailbox migration is completed.
- Email Rules and Filters. Document all rules or filters you use and want to continue using.
- Shut Down your Device the Night Before. If you take your device home, make sure to power it down PRIOR to bring it back to work the next day.
During Migration
- Opening Email. Microsoft Outlook will be available immediately once the migration completes. Open Outlook as normal. You may be prompted to restart Outlook.
Note: if prompted to sign in, make sure to use your firstinitial + lastname + @sccoe.org, version of your email address i.e. jdoe@sccoe.org. Do not use the longer format, Firstname_Lastname@sccoe.org, i.e. Jane_Doe@sccoe.org.
- Email Accounts on Mobile Devices. If you have your SCCOE email account connected to your phone, delete it from your phone's profile and re-create it. Instructions on how to do this are available for both Apple and Android devices.
After Migration
- Sharing Calendar. Re-share your calendar with colleagues, or assign delegate access.
- Rules and filters. Rules and filters may not come through with the migration. If needed, recreate your rules and filters to organize your email mailbox.
- Email Signature (Outlook Web Access only). Recreate your email signature if using Outlook Web Access.
