21st Century Global Exchange Program
The Global Exchange Program is a partnership created for the purpose of increasing the skill set of students to use technology effectively while experiencing Global Education through engagement in Project Based Learning (PBL), Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM), and language development.
The 2021 inaugural cohort focused on a partnership between Fischer Middle School in Alum Rock Union School District (ARUSD), the Canadian International School of Singapore, Silicon Valley Education Foundation, and the Santa Clara County Office of Education. This
online program was available for 7th and 8th grade
students. Students, teachers, and leaders from Fischer Middle School collaborated virtually with students and a teacher from the Canadian International School through support provided by staff from the Silicon Valley Education Foundation, and the Santa Clara County Office of Education over eight sessions February to April, culminating in the informative, creative, research-based student work highlighted by a few selections for your perusal in the eBooks library. Please visit the Book Creator website to view a selection of Global Exchange Program Student eBooks.
Subsequent cohorts, comprised of 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students, have included a partnership between the Santa Clara County Office of Education, Silicon Valley Education Foundation, Thai-Chinese International School in Thailand, and Ida Jew Academy in the Mount Pleasant Elementary School District .
