SAN JOSE, CA –The Santa Clara County High School Mock Trial Tournament concluded on Tuesday, February 13, when the final two teams—Willow Glen and Lynbrook High Schools—faced off in "The People v. Davidson" a fictional criminal case involving first-degree murder and a pre-trial argument on the Fourth Amendment.
After seven rounds of competition and a final round, which lasted almost three hours, Lynbrook High School emerged victoriously. Their success marks the second consecutive win for this school.
The Lynbrook High School team will advance to compete against 33 county winners at the state tournament in the 37th Annual California Mock Trial Finals on March 16-18 in Orange County.
This year, the Santa Clara County Mock Trial Tournament featured over 400 students from 23 high schools.
"We are very proud of the Lynbrook High School team and every student competitor who participated in this event. Mock Trial provides authentic learning experiences that lead to essential life skills," said Melissa Christie, Director of Curriculum & Instruction.
