SAN JOSE, CA – On November 2, 2022, the Santa Clara County Board of Education announced it would be accepting applications to fill a seat on the County Board of Education for Trustee Area 3 due to the deferred resignation of Trustee Rosemary Kamei. Eligible persons interested in consideration as a candidate for appointment were invited to apply by 5:00 p.m. on November 17, 2022. The ad-hoc committee of the County Board, tasked with review of applications, has announced the following five candidates are deemed eligible for consideration of appointment to the County Board of Education: Deborah Jyl Lutes, Donald Rocha, Michele Ryan, Jesus Salazar, and Basil Saleh.
The County Board will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022 to interview the five candidates and take action on the provisional appointment. The meeting will be held via zoom teleconference.
