The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) is a regional service agency serving 31 school districts of Santa Clara County and 21 County Board of Education authorized charter schools. In addition to providing academic and fiscal oversight, SCCOE offers instructional, business, and technology support to its 31 core districts. Our Impact

The success of our students is our top priority. Through our strategic investments, we have been able to advance inclusive education and access, develop our districts and communities and prioritize the needs of our teachers and employees. We strive to:

1. Provide every student with access to a high-quality, inclusive and equitable education.

From 2021 to 2022, we served nearly 2,600 children and families through Head Start and Early Head Start Programs, providing the highest quality services and family supports to foster each child’s social, emotional, educational and cognitive development.

2. Meet the immediate and long-term needs of our school communities to ensure they have every opportunity to succeed

Through the Department of Youth Health and Wellness, our wellness centers have served more than 2,800 students between August 2022 and October 2023.

3. Invest in systems and partnerships that foster the growth and development of our teachers and staff.

SCCOE has negotiated salary increases of 18% over the past two years for classified and unclassified staff.

In 2023, through its Educator Preparation Programs, SCCOE has advised nearly 500 candidates on pathways to becoming a teacher, including helping them leverage state grants and financial aid to enter the teaching profession.

A Closer Look: Fueling Staff Salaries

Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) offers fair and competitive salaries to our stellar workforce — in fact, since 2022, SCCOE has increased employee salaries by 18% for employees, while paraeducators have seen a 23% increase. Over an 8-year period (2016-17 through 2023-2024), SCCOE has provided 4.77% more in salary increases than the inflation rate rose and 9.86% more in salary increases than the state’s annual cost-of-living adjustments.

Did You Know?

CA Distinguished Schools 2023 Photo of three people with themed background

Last year, 61 Santa Clara County schools were recognized by the California Distinguished Schools Programs for closing the achievement gap and achieving exceptional student performance.

In partnership with the Gilroy Unified School District, we have provided nearly 300 hotspots and 64 wireless access points to expand access to high-speed internet for students residing at Arturo Ochoa Migrant Center.

Tomatoes grown by Sunol Community School

The Sunol Community School has partnered with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley and donated over 6,000 pounds of food in the last three years to families in need.
