SAN JOSE, CA – The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) released the sixth episode of “Why I Teach," a public service announcement series highlighting 2019 Teacher of the Year awardees. This series supports ongoing efforts to recruit qualified candidates considering a career in the profession.
John Miluso of Downtown College Prep loves his community and demonstrates his gratitude to the community by being a teacher, “the reason I teach comes from a love for justice, love for the future, and that responsibility that comes with feeling gratitude."
The video also highlights Wendy Grant Richards from Loma Prieta Joint Union School District and Suzanne Zamora of Evergreen School District.
The SCCOE is helping districts throughout the county recruit teaching candidates at the upcoming Teacher Recruitment Fair. This one-day event held at the SCCOE on Saturday, March 28, is an opportunity for those seeking a teaching position to meet with hiring representatives from local school districts and charter schools; advance registration is recommended.
The event is designed to recruit teachers and other certificated candidates who will have their credentials by fall 2020 or have an out of state credential, including psychologists, counselors, school nurses, speech-language pathologists, and audiologists.
