Submission deadlines approach
SAN JOSE, CA –The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) is now accepting submissions of student art for two upcoming events. Please be advised; both competitions have separate guidelines and submission processes.
The SCCOE is accepting both written and visual art submissions from Santa Clara County students for the upcoming
National Bilingual/Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month Symposium on April 16. This year's theme is "My Name, My Identity": exemplifying the 4Cs – Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, and Critical Thinking. Teachers and art administrators are encouraged to submit student art for students from kindergarten to grade 12. A total of 25 submissions per school will be allowed.
WHAT: Santa Clara County National Bilingual/Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month Showcase
WHO: All Santa Clara County Public/Charter schools and after-school arts programs are eligible to participate.
WHEN: February 12- March 30:
Student Artwork Submission and digital files due
April 2-6: Selection of student art
April 6: Winners announced online
April 9-13: Notification sent to winners
April 16: Bilingual/Multilingual Learner Advocacy Month Symposium, 4 p.m.

The SCCOE is accepting student visual art submissions from teachers and art administrators for the upcoming
Young Artists Showcase on May 22. This year's theme is "ART from the HeART" which encourages students to show how their art comes from the heart. A total of 25 submissions per school will be allowed. Students from prekindergarten to grade 8 are eligible. All media accepted including: drawings, paintings, sculptures, and digital media.
Winning entries will be included in the permanent collection at the SCCOE.

April 9-13: Selection of student art

May 22: Young Artists Showcase Celebration, 4:30 p.m.
