SAN JOSE, CA – After placing first in the Santa Clara County 2024 Junior High Spelling Bee in March and then winning the 2024 California State Junior High Spelling Bee in April, Shradha Rachamreddy moves on to compete in the national spelling bee. Rachamreddy will make her fourth appearance at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in late May.
“The entirety of Santa Clara County will be rooting for her,” said County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Ann Dewan. “We are proud of Shradha [Rachamreddy] and are impressed with her dedication to her studies.”
Rachamreddy competed at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in 2019, 2022, and 2023, climbing her way from 51st to 23rd place and then tying for third place in 2023. She is one of 245 spellers representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Department of Defense Schools in Europe. The competition includes four segments, all
televised on May 28 and 29 on ION.
