The SCCOE is committed to creating safe and inclusive school environments for all youth, free from harassment, intimidation, bullying, and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation. The SCCOE is devoted to addressing the needs and inequities that LGBTQ youth experience in school. Incorporating an inclusive atmosphere free from discrimination is identified in Title IX, AB 537: California Student Safety and Violence Prevention Act, the SCCOE's non-discrimination policy, and its goals .
Our shared responsibility is to ensure that everyone in our school communities is valued and respected regardless of gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. The SCCOE is actively working to create more inclusive policies and practices that support uplift LGBTQ youth. We encourage students, staff, and community members to learn about one another, celebrate inclusiveness and diversity, and positively contribute to growth, success, and the safety of our Santa Clara County families.
