SAN JOSE, CA –On October 19, volunteers from Adobe and SAP gathered at the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) Seven Trees Educational Center for a Playground Day Celebration in conjunction with KaBOOM! In eight hours, the volunteers built a playground that will serve students with special needs.
Thanks to everyone's effort, community awareness was raised about the importance of play and of civic activism. The SCCOE serves more than a thousand students with special needs at 64 sites across the county.
"This playground is more than a playground, it's a fun-maker, it's a muscle builder, and it's a brain expander, so we're really thrilled to be bringing that power to kids in partnership with Seven Trees, Adobe, and SAP," said Jacob Stachler, project manager at KaBOOM!, which coordinated the one-day build.
The Department of Media & Communications has produced this video commemorating the event. In addition, you can view the entire day, from start to finish, on this time-lapse video.
