SAN JOSE, CA - As a part of its commitment to public school choice and the community, the Santa Clara County Board of Education (SCCBOE) has scheduled a Special Board Meeting regarding Charter Schools at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, at the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) located at 1290 Ridder Park Drive, San Jose.
The meeting provides a forum for the community, charter schools, traditional schools, and school districts to address the SCCBOE in matters related to charter schools in Santa Clara County. The Board welcomes and encourages the community to attend. The agenda will include an opportunity for open dialogue with the board. John Fensterwald, editor-at-large for EdSource Today will moderate the meeting.
"The Board has a firm commitment to host periodic opportunities for dialogue with the community about charter schools," said Rosemary Kamei, vice chair of the Santa Clara County Board of Education. "We want to discuss what's working well, what can be improved, and how we can come together to support all students and families."
Also on the agenda, the SCCOE Charter Schools Department will present the current process used for monitoring and oversight of charter schools authorized by the SCCBOE. The full agenda will be posted online at sccoe.org on Friday, November 3.
