SAN JOSE, CA – Opportunity Youth Academy (OYA) is inviting members of the public to drop in for an open house, scheduled Wednesday, April 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This event is designed to allow the community to visit the school and learn about this unique blended learning program of teacher-directed instruction and online credit accrual and recovery options. Attendees will meet with instructors and career navigators and learn how OYA can help students earn their high school diploma.
"Students aged 16-24 are eligible to join this re-engagement program free of charge. OYA offers workforce training, employment services, transportation assistance and support with child care and housing. Upon graduation our students have met the requirements to enter California public universities and military service," says Phil Morales, Principal of Opportunity Youth Academy.

The Opportunity Youth Academy offers students a blended learning program of teacher-directed instruction and online credit accrual and recovery options. The individualized support of teachers, counselors, education navigators, community liaisons and access to the services of SCCOE partners from community-based organizations is the hallmark of this unique program. The focus is ensuring that students leave the program with a high school diploma and a path to postgraduation college or career. The classes students complete satisfy admission requirements for California public universities and military service.
