Kathleen M. King is the Chief Executive Officer of the Healthier Kids Foundation and former CEO for the Santa Clara Family Health Foundation. She was the Technology Business Executive for Applied Materials, Inc. for 19 years. Ms. King has held elective office as city council member and mayor of the City of Saratoga. The five candidates for Board Trustee Area 2 went through an extensive interview process which included an opening statement and responding to six questions. If time permitted, candidates were asked two follow-up questions. Board members were then asked to announce their top candidate.
"I want to thank all of the applicants for their interest in serving on the Santa Clara County Board of Education," said Interim County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Ann Dewan. "We were fortunate to have a strong pool of candidates who bring a depth of experience and knowledge."
