SAN JOSE, CA – School districts, schools and educators recognized by state departments and associations were celebrated on June 5 at the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE).
During the school year, numerous recognitions from the California Department of Education, and California School Boards Association were awarded to 27 schools and districts in Santa Clara County. These recognitions included the California Distinguished Schools, Model Continuation High Schools, High-Performing Middle School to Watch, California Exemplary Dual Enrollment Schools, Golden Bell Awards, California Green Ribbon Schools, Civic Learning Award Schools, and Model School Attendance Review Board (SARB) Recipients.
Additionally, districts and SCCOE programs submitted their Classified School Employee of the Year winners to the county. County-level honorees were then submitted to the California Department of Education. There were nine categories with honorees in two districts and one Santa Clara County Office of Education program.
“Congratulations to the educators and staff who set the standard of educational excellence through these recognitions,” said County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Ann Dewan. “Your commitment to providing quality services, programs and education to students is making a great impact.”
“As a former educator, it is an honor to celebrate all of the hard work the honorees have done and dedication they have given on behalf of the students of Santa Clara County,” said Santa Clara County Board of Education President Maimona Afzal Berta.
