SAN JOSE, CA – The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) is proud to announce the students advancing to the California State Spelling Bee Championship.
- Ishani Dasgupta - Stratford School, Milpitas Great Mall Parkway
- Shradha Rachamreddy - BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Upper School
“Congratulations to the students for their outstanding work,” said County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Ann Dewan. “We are proud to have them represent Santa Clara County.”
Rachamreddy is a former co-champion of the 2023 county spelling bee and tied for third in the 2023 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Joining Dasgupta and Rachamreddy, are the runners-up from the county-level spelling bee.
- Vihaan Gupta - West Valley Elementary School
- Yanlin Huang - BASIS Independent Silicon Valley Upper School
The students in grades 4-6 and 7-9 competed at the SCCOE’s main campus on March 9 for the county spelling bee. The winning words were “ebullient” and “proselytizer.” The California State Spelling Bee Championship will occur at the San Joaquin County Office of Education on April 27.
The Santa Clara County Office of Education wishes all the participants the best of luck as they prepare for this prestigious event.
