The Santa Clara County Board of Education reviewed the renewal appeal for Escuela Popular Center for Training and Careers Family Learning Charter School at its August 5 meeting. Following its review, the Board unanimously voted to deny the renewal appeal petition.
The Board's decision was based on the data and information presented during the appeal process from Escuela Popular, comments from East Side Union High School District and the independent review by Santa Clara County Office of Education staff.
The Board recognizes the impact this decision has on the school community. This action applies specifically to the high school charter program and does not affect the additional services and programs provided by the organization outside of the high school program.
We have no further comment at this time.
