SAN JOSE, CA – The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) is proud to announce the four students advancing to the California State Spelling Bee Championship. Twenty-five talented spellers from districts across the county competed in multiple rounds.
Austin Foz, a fifth‑grade student from Mt. Pleasant Elementary School District, earned first place in the elementary division by correctly spelling “absquatulate.” Second place was awarded to Umed Raghav Donamukkala from Evergreen Elementary School District.
Aiden Huang, an eighth‑grade student from Alum Rock Union School District, won the division by spelling “albescent.” Second place went to Daniel Wang from BASIS Independent Silicon Valley.
The California State Spelling Bee Championship will occur in Manteca on April 25.
The Santa Clara County Office of Education wishes all the participants the best of luck as they prepare for the State Spelling Bee.
