The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is a group of parents and educators interested in helping children who have special educational needs. Our CAC represents eleven school districts in Santa Clara County. We meet during the school year to work with school district staff and administration to promote our children’s needs and educate parents in our districts.
If your child has an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) or 504 Plan, or you think they may need special education services, then our group is for you. You’ll receive announcements for interesting speakers and panel discussions focused on the special educational needs of your child. You’ll also be informed of other important events and resources.
The CAC is where parents like you come together to:
-
Meet other parents who face challenges similar to yours
-
Provide input to special education directors and school superintendents
-
Exchange information and share “tribal knowledge”
-
Help set priorities for workshop topics and other resources
The CAC is a state-mandated committee whose primary purpose is to facilitate communication and understanding leading to improved special education programs and related services. For more details please see our
