The Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) is a significant five-year initiative in California that aims to transform support for children, youth, and families. Through the School-Linked Partnership & Capacity Grants, the
Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will provide $550 million to California public K-12 schools ($400 million) and higher education institutions ($150 million). This one-time investment will enhance school-linked behavioral health services and support operational readiness for the statewide multi-payer fee schedule. The Santa Clara County Office of Education, in partnership with the
Sacramento County Office of Education, will oversee fund distribution to all 58 county offices of education (COEs) and will provide training and technical assistance to help COEs successfully implement the fee schedule. This collaborative effort aims to maximize the impact of the grants and benefit California's children, youth, and families.
