SAN JOSE, CA – The Santa Clara County Board of Education on Wednesday, December 16th, elected its officers for 2021. Claudia Rossi, who was elected to the board in 2014, was named president for a second term. Elected to a consecutive term as board vice president, was Kathleen M. King.
President Rossi, now elected to a second term as president for the coming year, said “It has been my honor to serve the districts, staff, students and families of Santa Clara County in this manner. 2020 was a challenging year for us all, and it revealed our strength, tenacity and resilience in many important ways. I am glad to continue this good work and look forward to continuing to support the County Office of Education, staff and greater community.”
The Santa Clara County Board of Education (SCCBOE) held an induction ceremony to swear in newly elected and re-elected trustees on December 16th. The oath of office was administered for newly elected Trustee Victoria Chon and re-elected members Joseph Di Salvo, Rosemary Kamei, and Grace H. Mah. The ceremony began and ended with performances by the Mountain View High School Madrigals Choir, under the direction of Jill Denny.
“I am honored to serve with the Santa Clara County Board of Education and congratulate President Rossi, Vice President King, and welcome new board member Victoria Chon and our returning members,” said County Superintendent, Dr. Mary Ann Dewan. “The County Office of Education remains steadfast in our commitment to support our community, students, school districts and staff with a focus on equity.”
