SAN JOSE, CA – On Saturday, February 1, from 10 a.m. to noon, the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE), in partnership with Silicon Valley Reads, will host a career fair for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade and their families. This year's theme, “Women Making It Happen," recognizes the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in the U.S. Student attendees are invited to explore career options with female leaders working in a variety of fields traditionally held by men.
Guests include women working in careers in the following jobs and industries: airline pilot, bank president, chef, civil engineer, cybersecurity, dentist, doctor, firefighter, housing, landscape architect, lawyer, police officer, recycling, software engineer, television, and urban planning.
“Women are underrepresented in these fields, the opportunity to meet and talk to professional women in these industries, can be a significant boost to ensuring that young women and girls see themselves in these career paths," stated County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Mary Ann Dewan.

About the Santa Clara County Office of Education
