Our Early Learning Services prepare children for school, offering high-quality, child-focused opportunities. We support family involvement and work to improve our programs, aiming for positive child development.
Our Approach:
Child-Centered Learning: Activities are tailored to each child's development, combining independent exploration with teacher guidance.
Comprehensive Curriculum: Our curriculum, the Creative Curriculum, is research-based and meets state and Head Start standards. It supports all children's development in key areas (language, literacy, math, science, arts, social-emotional, physical, health) to prepare them for kindergarten.
Engaging Environments: Classrooms are set up with various learning areas (e.g., blocks, dramatic play, art, library) to encourage exploration and support learning.
Key Processes:
Individualized Support: We screen all new children (behavioral, sensory, developmental) within 45 days of enrollment. Results are shared with families to discuss any needs for additional assessment.
Smooth Transitions: We ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten. This includes supporting parents, planning transitions, and providing classroom activities to introduce kindergarten expectations. Teachers regularly update families on children's progress in school readiness skills (social, academic, physical).
IEP Collaboration: For children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), we work closely with specialists to plan their transition to kindergarten.
Quality Assurance: We use the CLASS system to ensure high-quality teacher-child interactions.
