Participants will review the fundamentals of the Parent Engagement Initiative; understand parent education training modules; understand healthy school climate activities; and understand alignment of common core standards to academic enrichment activities.
Parents have opportunities to deepen and refine their skills at a series of follow-up workshops offered by school districts.
The sessions help parents learn appropriate child development and effective discipline strategies, as well as understand their children’s unique learning needs. Parents will learn how to partner with their children’s school to support a healthy school climate, and they’ll practice academic support strategies that can help children learn at home.
Training modules allow parents the opportunity to continue to hone their ability to improve student achievement by addressing the academic, discipline, nutrition and safety needs of their children.
