The Systems Administration Team is staying busy, busy, busy this month. Here’s what we’ve been doing to ensure the smooth and successful running of our COE and Districts’ systems:
We are building and configuring new servers for Business System that replace obsolete and unsupported HP3000/MPE server and cleaning up QSS data in the current system so they are ready for converting to Microsoft SQL. We processed 35,000 W2s and 2,000 1099 forms for 53 Districts of Santa Clara County and San Benito County! Phew!
We configured DELL SANHQ and Lasso applications – EqualLogic iSCSI Proactive SAN Maintenance and ensured our servers are backed up using CommVault software implementation. We worked on server virtualization (converting physical servers to become virtual).
There have been many new web server and website projects and we’ve been working on State Certification of SCCOE student program Data (Alt Ed and Sp Ed), including CALPADS, CBEDS-ORA and CARS. In addition, there’s been a great deal of data consolidation of the COE student systems, in particular, migrating Special Education student data into Aeries SIS.
Finally, we continue our work on the Data Warehouse, building and implementing a central data repository of key COE data systems to produce actionable data for data-driven decision making.
