Page Content: ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Educational Services Division​ provides countywide education programs for students with disabilities, students who are under court supervision, and students who are not attending regular schools. The division also operates preschool and child development programs; provides environmental education; helps districts run their special education programs; and provides education for children of migrant families.

Student Advisory Committee

The Student Advisory Committee is made up of students in Santa Clara County Office of Education Programs. The committee reviews and provides input on County Operated program's Santa Clara County Office of Education Local Control Accountability Plan, budget and student programs. Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)

The Parent Advisory Committee reviews and provides input on County Operated program's Santa Clara County Office of Education Local Control Accountability Plan, budget and student programs. District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

The District English Learner Advisory Committee provides oversight for programming to support English Learners enrolled in Santa Clara County Office of Education schools. The DELAC meets twice annually and provides decision-making regarding parent engagement, reclassification of English Learners, budget, and program for English Learners. Comprised of parents and SCCOE staff, the DELAC also provides input regarding the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the Title III budget. Parents and guardians are invited to attend. Educational Services

Alternative Education – The Alternative Education Department provides educational programs for students who are under court supervision, or who are not attending regular school.

Early Learning Services – The Early Learning Services Department provides a variety of services for early childhood education including Head Start - Early Head Start.

Early Start – The Early Start Program provides early intervention services for children from birth to age three with disabilities, as well as their families.

Environmental Education (Walden West) – Walden West is a residential outdoor science school for fifth-and-sixth-graders. Lessons in science, ecology, and the environment are brought to life as students learn in the outdoor setting.

Migrant Education – The SCCOE Migrant Education Program is designed to provide supplementary services to eligible migrant students.

Opportunity Youth Academy – The Opportunity Youth Academy offers students a blended program of teacher-directed instruction and online credit accrual and recovery options. The focus is ensuring that students leave the program with a high school diploma, and a path to college or a postgraduation career. The classes students complete satisfy admission requirements for California public universities and military service.

Special Education – The Special Education Department provides a variety of instructional programs and services for infants, children and youth with special needs.
