Hearing on the Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) 2014-15
Preliminary Budget
Pursuant to Education Code (EC) 52062(b)(1), county offices of
education are required to hold a public hearing for the budget to be adopted
for the subsequent fiscal year at the same meeting as the public hearing for
the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). This item satisfies the requirements under EC

4. ACTION ITEM
In order to comply with Education Code, the Santa Clara County Office
of Education is required to revise Board Policy 1312.3 Uniform Complaint
Procedures by June 30, 2014 to include a reference to the Local Control Funding
Formula (LCFF) and the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The request to suspend Board Bylaw 9310, for
the purpose of holding a first reading of proposed revised Board Policy 1312.3
– Uniform Complaint Procedures, is being made in order to meet the June 30,
2014 deadline and would be in effect only for this policy through June 18, 2014
at which time the Board would adopt the policy during its regularly scheduled
board meeting. Administration recommends
to suspend Board Bylaw 9310 for the purpose of holding a first reading of
proposed revised Board Policy 1312.3 – Uniform Complaint Procedures. (Toni Cordova)

Pursuant to Education Code, the Uniform Complaint Procedures policy

to include complaints regarding the requirement and implementation of LCFF
