Learn about our wonderful Wild Things program.

Join our Camper Club...
When you register, why not enroll your child in our Camper
Club. It's easy. Just donate $40 to our Walden West Foundation's campaign to
fund the Science Learning Center Lab. We accept cash, checks, Visa, and
MasterCard and your donation is tax deductible. Students who are members of this
very special club will receive a scoop of candy to celebrate our "Inside
Scoop... It's Easy Being Green" campaign!

The Program
Wild Things is an exciting day camp for children kindergarten and first
grade. The program is designed to improve socialization skills while fostering a
love for the out-of-doors. Campers will enjoy archery, arts and crafts,
gardening, hiking, cooking, swimming, and singing.

The Staff
Camp is managed by our Outdoor School staff. Individuals bring years of
summer camp experience and a passion for the outdoors. They hold certificates in
First Aid, CPR and Lifeguarding. Five staff members, with the help of ten
experienced volunteer counselors from local high schools, supervise the 50
children.

Transportation
On the first day - Monday - bring your camper to Walden West between 8 a.m. and
9 a.m. for check-in. For the remainder of the week, staff will transport campers
from Saratoga School (14592 Oak Street, Saratoga 95070) to Walden West and then
again back to Saratoga School in the afternoons. Afternoon drop-offs begin
Monday at 4:15 p.m. Morning bus pick-up is from 8:15 until 8:30 a.m. and
begins Tuesday. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WILD THINGS HAVE BUS SERVICE EVERY
MORNING AND AFTERNOON BEGINNING MONDAY AFTERNOON. Unless we are told otherwise,
we will assume that your child will ride the bus home Thursday
afternoon (when older day campers stay for their BBQ).

Early Drop-Offs and Pick-Ups
For those parents who need to drop off their children earlier, we offer
extended hours. Early morning drop-off begins at 8:00 a.m. There is no charge.
Afternoon early pick-up is offered for those who wish to pick their children up
before 4:15. Please notify us on Monday during the check-in period. There is no after hours
supervision for Wild Thing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday. If a Wild Things camper has an
older sibling in Day Camp, the Wild Things camper may stay with him or her after hours care until the
BBQ begins at 6:00 p.m. Please
notify us at check-in.
