From the Executive Director
Welcome to the Santa Clara County School Boards Association Website!

On behalf of our President Pam Parker of the Campbell Union High School District, the Officers, and the Executive Board, I welcome you to the website of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association (SCCSBA).

Founded in 1975, Santa Clara County School Boards Association offers board development services, communication, and other activities to promote public education for the thirty-two elementary, high school and unified school district Boards of Trustees in Santa Clara County and works on behalf of education advocacy, professional governance, and policy development. In concert with the California School Boards Association (CSBA), SCCSBA seeks to build an effective foundation for the education of all children in our diverse communities.

The Association hosts monthly meetings, usually on the fourth Wednesday evening, from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in the Milpitas Room of the Santa Clara County Office of Education. We also host an informal lunch on the "First Friday" of the month, at a centrally located restaurant - both events are open to all members and new members are especially welcome. We provide a regular monthly newsletter to board members and Superintendents throughout the county, as well as updates to this website and our Facebook page.

One of the most active County Associations affiliated with the CSBA, SCCSBA sponsors a number of well-attended events during the school year. We begin with our Annual Fall Dinner Meeting in October. This year, it was co-sponsored with the San Mateo and Santa Cruz Counties' Associations. We also sponsored the Hospitality Suite at CSBA’s Annual Education at the San Diego Convention Center.

We continue our dynamic year in the spring with our Legislative Brunch on March 17th and our Annual Spring Dinner Meeting on April 25th, when we recognize outstanding programs in our county with Glenn Hoffmann Awards. Our Annual Reorganization Meeting and Installation of Officers is held in May as an optional no-host dinner meeting. Please refer to the Annual Calendar on this website for more detail.

From time to time, we also co-sponsor a local two-year series of board development workshops, the CSBA Masters in Governance program, with the Santa Clara County Office of Education. This program is also offered on a statewide level in Sacramento. Looking forward to elections in November, we hold board candidate workshops in early June, to continue stimulating interest in school board service.

If you have any questions about the Association or its programs and services, please contact me by email at execdirector@sccsba.org or leave a detailed message at our office at (408) 453-6515, and I will return your call as soon as possible. Thank you for your interest in our Association!
