Agenda and Minutes | Calendar of Meetings | Special Events Executive Board & Delegates | Hoffmann Award Program | CSBA From the Executive Director On behalf of our President Frank Biehl of the East Side UHSD, the Officers, and Executive Board, I welcome you to the Website of the Santa Clara County School Boards Association (SCCSBA). Founded in 1975, Santa Clara County School Boards Association offers board development services, communication, and other activities to promote public education for the thirty-three elementary, high school and unified school district Boards of Trustees in Santa Clara County and works on behalf of education advocacy, professional governance, and policy development. In concert with the California School Boards Association (CSBA), SCCSBA seeks to build an effective foundation for the education of all children in our diverse communities. The Association hosts monthly meetings, open to all school board members, featuring topical speakers to address current issues concerning public education. We also provide a regular monthly newsletter to board members and Superintendents throughout the county, as well as updates to this Website. One of the most active County Associations affiliated with the CSBA, SCCSBA sponsors a number of well-attended events during the school year. We begin with our Annual Fall Dinner Meeting in October, co-sponsored with the County Superintendent of Schools. We also sponsor a Hospitality Suite at CSBA’s Annual Education Conference, to be held this year in early December at the San Diego Convention Center. We continue our dynamic year in the spring with our Legislators’ Brunch in March and our Annual Spring Dinner Meeting in April, when we recognize outstanding programs in our county with Glenn Hoffmann Awards. Our Annual Reorganization Meeting and Installation of Officers is held in May as an optional no-host dinner meeting. Please refer to the Annual Calendar for more detail. In the past, we have also co-sponsored a local two-year series of board development workshops, the CSBA Masters in Governance program, with the Santa Clara County Office of Education. This program is now offered on a statewide level in Sacramento. Looking forward to elections in November, we hold board candidate workshops in early June, to continue stimulating interest in school board service. If you have any questions about the Association or its programs and services, please contact me by email at Savgmom@aol.com or leave a complete message on my voice mail (408) 453-6515, and I will return your call as soon as possible. Thank you for your interest in our Association. Rose Filicetti, Executive Director 1290 Ridder Park Dr., MC 202 (408) 453-6515 Office
