Showcase your district and share your success with other educators by
participating in the 2011 Glenn W. Hoffmann Exemplary Awards Program. Initiated
by the Santa Clara County School Boards Association (SCCSBA) in 1983, the
Hoffmann Awards provide recognition for successful district programs that are of
either direct or indirect benefit to students. The categories and scoring rubric
have changed for this year----there are now ten categories districts can apply
for, and four scoring categories----impact on students, innovative/creative,
replicable, and sustainable.
You are invited to submit an application for a program in your district that
you feel is worthy of commendation. You may re-submit programs that have not
previously received an award, especially since the categories and scoring rubric
have changed from previous years. A committee of SCCSBA members and educational
professionals will review all applications and make visitations during February
and March 2011. Award winners will be notified at the end of March. The 2010
Hoffmann Awards will be presented at the SCCSBA's Spring Dinner on Wednesday
April 27, 2011. Award winners will be given a cash prize of $500, and the
program judged to be the best among all the awardees will be recognized with the
Kristi Porter Award and will receive an additional $500.
