Montebello Closure Hearing
On May 7, 2009 the California Department of Education approved a request of the Montebello School
District Board of Trustees to lapse (close) the district due to its small size and ability to maintain
a viable educational program.
The Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization will conduct a public hearing
pursuant to Education Code section 35782 to obtain public response regarding the lapsation of
Montebello School District.
