COE Committee to Consider
L.A. Hills Resolution for New District
SAN JOSE, CA – A preliminary public hearing to consider public response
to a resolution from the City Council of the Town of Los Altos Hills regarding
reorganization of the Los Altos Hills area will be held Thursday, Dec. 7 by the
Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization.
The Los Altos Hills resolution asks the County Committee, among other things,
to develop a plan for creation of a K-8 school district within the town.
Should the Committee vote to develop such a plan, it would be the first step
of a multi-step process. At any of several subsequent steps along the way, the
decision to develop a plan agreement could be overturned. Should that occur, the
process would end.
If the Committee votes at the meeting not to develop the plan, the process
simply would end at that point.
A third possibility at the Thursday meeting is that the Committee would defer
a decision, and schedule a meeting for further deliberation.
The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. in the San Jose Room of the Santa Clara
County Office of Education, 1290 Ridder Park Dr., San Jose. Those wishing to
address the committee may pre-register by contacting Suzanne Carrig at (408)
453-6869. Written statements, submitted in sets of 20 copies, also can be
provided for the Committee's consideration.
