Writer's Workshop
Writer's Workshop is a televised broadcast and webcast produced by Silicon
Valley Instructional Television with the goal of improving student writing and
reading comprehension. The television show models the types of skills needed to
pass the SAT9 and California High School Exit Exams (CAHSEE). Students on the
show illustrate reading comprehension skills by using a literature circle
discussion of an article. Students also participate in peer editing of the
papers about that article, culminating with a special Writing Expert's critique
on camera.
Viewers are encouraged to email us their writing samples for an on-air
critique. The guidelines for the critique are based on the 6 +
1 Writing Traits Analysis.
