How to subscribe to a Bill
If you wish to receive automatic updates via email on any individual bill:
- Go to either the State Senate or Assembly web page on legislation:
- Put into the 'bill number' box the number of the bill you wish to
subscribe to (i.e. 56, 1849, etc.). It is not necessary at this time to put
an SB or AB in front of the bill number. You may also get a list of bills
by author or keyword/text by entering the information in those boxes.
- Click on 'Search'. Note-This will take you to a listing of all
bills, resolutions, state constitutional amendments, etc. (SB, AB, ABX, SBX,
ACA, AJR, SCR, etc) with the number entered.
- Click on the bill you wish to subscribe to. Note-This will take you to
a page listing links to the history and status of the bill, plus all
versions of the bill (amended versions), committee analysis’, and
committee and floor votes.
- To subscribe to the bill, click on 'Subscribe.'
- Senate site– This is on the left side of the page.
- Assembly site – This is on the bottom of the page.
- Enter your email in the box provided on the 'Subscribe' page.
- Click on the 'Submit' and you will soon receive an email
confirming your subscription to the bill.
- Note-You may subscribe to as many bills, resolutions, etc. as you wish.
This service is FREE.
- If you wish to research a bill introduced in a previous year:
- Follow steps #1 and 2 above
- Change the box 'Session' to the year you believe the bill was
considered
- Follow steps #3, 4, 5 to get a listing of the bills.
