A Look at
Learning (A.L.L.)
A.L.L. is designed to help districts build capacity in developing a cadre of experts
who are highly committed to increase the academic achievement of English learners.
It supports effective implementation of English Language Development (ELD) and
Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE) in the content areas.
A Look at
Learning professional development has extensive tools, facilitator guides and video resources aligned to
California Standards for the Teaching Profession that address effective instruction in four focus areas:
- I. Learning Environment
- II. Planning
- III. Applying Best Teaching and Learning Strategies
- IV. Using Assessment for Differentiation
Implementing the A Look at Learning observation cycle requires commitment over a period of time. The data collection design allows districts and school sites
to measure student achievement and teachers' competency in implementing A.L.L. practices.
