We welcome job seekers and new applicants, confident that our commitment to excellence in education coupled with the County’s beautiful and stimulating surroundings offer a unique opportunity to all teachers and support personnel. The following points are provided to assist you in your job search:

  • The Santa Clara County Office of Education serves as the intermediary organization between the California Department of Education and the 32 school districts in Santa Clara County. For administrative, teaching, and classified employment opportunities at the SCCOE and county school districts, visit ED-JOIN or contact the districts directly.

  • For additional information relating to current teaching positions, instructional and student programs as well as professional development and teacher training opportunities at the Santa Clara County Office of Education, contact Certificated Human Resources webpages.

  • For additional information regarding SCCOE classified (non-teaching) employment, testing requirements, job descriptions, salary schedules, and available substitute and hourly positions, please contact Classified Personnel Services.

  • Individuals seeking initial teaching and substitute teaching employment in California public schools must possess a California Credential. For additional information about California teaching credentials, or substitute teacher permits, contact the CALIFORNIA COMMISSION ON TEACHER CREDENTIALING (CCTC), P.O. Box 944270, Sacramento CA 94244-2700 (Telephone: 916.445.7254) (www.ctc.ca.gov) or Credential Services at the SCCOE.

  • The SCCOE and school districts in Santa Clara County select substitute teachers using the same general procedure as they do for assigning regular teachers. An appropriate teaching credential or substitute permit is required for substitute teacher employment. If you are interested in substitute teacher information, we suggest you contact the individual districts.
